PIN INSULATOR
The purpose of this device is to provide rigid
mechanical support to electrical conductors and
in turn isolate them from the pole
structure.
Because it is made of high-density polyethylene HDPE, this insulator has great resistance to impact, mechanical loads, erosion and the incidence of UV radiation due to climatic effects.
The insulator complies with NTC 739 ( ANSI C29.5) and NTC 5651.
USES
They are commonly used as support for overhead line conductors on the pole, fastened with a dowel that is supported directly on the crossarm of the structure. Due to this, the material and its components must be prepared for proper performance under mechanical loads and wear generated by the movement of the cable due to the action of the wind or electrical charges that occur due to short circuits or overvoltages.
